Connect Scotland is pleased to announce a new programme of exciting FREE workshops and networking events in the run up to the Connect Scotland Investment Conference 2013

In association with G2 Innovation we would like to invite you to attend the first in a series of workshops on Thursday 13th October.

Workshop 1 - R&D Tax Credits

Research and Development (R&D) tax relief is available for all UK businesses that are developing new products, processes or services. It is intended to encourage investment in innovation, and provides significant tax incentives.

R&D tax relief is intended to encourage investment in innovation, by providing significant tax incentives to UK businesses.

There are two main schemes;

1. R&D tax credits (for revenue costs that are expressed through the profit and loss account)

2. R&D capital allowances (for capital expenditure that is recorded through the balance sheet).

Despite the significant benefits available, many companies are still missing out.

This workshop will explore the following key areas:

• What counts as R&D
• How does the Scheme Work
• Which costs are eligible
